As a rule of thumb, I learned and have always set strike and any access control we've ever installed to 24VDC... but I never really questioned why. Other than the obvious distance/amperage differences is there any benefit to using one over the other on a new install? With more controllers (like the Axis A1601) being able to provide power to the strikes, is anyone finding one settings to be preferrable? TIA!
