32CH Hybrid DVR Marketplace - Is Hikvision The Only Player Here?

Looking for recommendations on Hybrid 32CH DVR that is not manufactured by HIK or Dahua and supports 4MP HDTVI or AHD cameras.

While I have found some 16ch 1080p units from SAMSUNG / DigitalWatchdog and Clint, I cannot find anyone that supports the newer cameras and provides enough input ports for the job we are working on.

Often times for this situation depending on the manufacturer you are better off getting two 16 channel systems. Probably even cheaper depending on the models. Also if one fails you still have 16 cameras recording. Even with Hybrid analog NVR's like Exacq I don't buy the 32 channel units as you are putting all your eggs, Cameras, in one basket.

I would take a look at rifatron, they are a big Korean dvr manufacturer and might have something for you.

Thanks for all the comments. The total scope of the job is to replace about 70 existing analog cameras in a multi story building where coaxial cables are already in place.

I think Hanwha will be the ultimate answer although we are still looking at evaluating other options.

Have you thought about iCatch solutions?

They don't have a 32ch with Analog HD inputs, but you can use a mix of their DVRs (7in1 with AHD-TVI-CVI-CVBS-IP-DUHD) from 4 to 16ch and use a 32ch only for get the stream from others with the OMNICATCH feature.

In this case you don't need to use a PC with CMS.

If you hadn't excluded Dahua, I would have suggested their new ePoE solution.  Their cameras, when connected to their ePoE switches (up to 24 ports), allow for extremely long distance over coax.  You could then use a standard NVR of your choice. If you have security concerns, use a secure NVR such as Razberi, or other cyber-resistant device.

I wonder if the Dahua epoe setup would work with other brand of IP cameras also... This could be a cost effective way to convert the infrastructure.

Get an NVR and connect analog camera via video encoders and a network switch it’ll offer scalability moving forward...pay now or pay later.

We offer an option through Watchman (Unimo) that is a Korean made DVR. They are 16 channel units (WMQHD16) but can be purchased with the UK-DHS DVR Health Server which allows up to (4) 16 channel DVR's to be monitored simultaneously, up to 64 cameras. Don't know if that configuration would work for your customer, but we have these in place for similar applications. The DVR's can do TVI, AHD up to 4MP resolution.
