3-D Scanners For Jobs Estimation And Documentation

3-D scanners  have become increasingly affordable at <$400 for an apparatus that  attaches to a Tablet and allows you to produce floor plans....  and more. At least that what the marketing says,  If this is not allowed (please removed).

I have seen contractor on a job site with one of those 3-D scanner. They swear by them. However much we would like to see floor plans from the customer, what they finally give us are are often outdated and/or inaccurate. These tools if they work as advertised could be extremely useful.,

Have any of you used these things? What were the results? What app did you use with those? What we the total cost? Learning curve? etc? Calling on the collective :)
