SD stands for Secure Digital, a type of memory card. XC and HC are variants of it.

HC stands for high capacity. It was capable of up to 32GB on the card.

XC stands for extended capacity, and supports up to 2TB on the card. However, 512GB is the highest commercially available right now, and cards that size are hundreds of dollars.

We have an SD Card For Surveillance Tutorial which covers more detail.

quoting from IP Camera Specification Guide

IP cameras are SDHC, topping out at 32GB (the equivalent of a 500GB 16 channel DVR - tiny storage for today's standards).

what it is mean ?? how can calculate ??

Emadaldin,

The full quote is, "many, if not most, IP cameras are SDHC, topping out at 32GB..."

We are not saying no IP cameras support more than 32GB, but 32GB is the most common. Obviously, as new releases come out, 64GB and, at some point 64GB will be common.

When we say a 32GB SD card is equivalent to a 500GB 16 channel DVR, this is the outpout of simple match - 32GB x 16 cameras = 512GB total.
