We have a client who seems to have a standard in many countries of using exit readers on main office doors (swing doors). They have break glass units too but I just don't see the point of an exit reader on such a door other than annoying staff and visitors. Maybe I'm missing something? In my mind, exit readers are used to accurately count people on site and for mustering but only if some kind of pass-back resistant turnstile is used.
Am I missing a practical reason for these exit readers on office doors?
