How Are These Fovs Calculated?

How is this calculated since focal length is not the only factor in determining the FoV.

Is this primarily empirical?

How is this calculated since focal length is not the only factor in determining the FoV.

Angle of View changes based on image sensor (image chip) size as well.  The values in the chart you linked are based on 1/3" image sensor size.

You can use the camera calculator to experiment with the relationship too:
