Mostly worked on Hik Wifi write-up and some other detail checking related to that.

Went through a few files on Hik FTP server, downloaded many for later review.

Setup conversation w/Mobotix CEO about CTO resignation for tomorrow. Also plan to ask him about OEM strategy, etc.

Reviewed Axis vulnerability announcements to prep for post on Friday when the bashis one is released.

Attended/recorded ADI "cyber security" webinar. A couple of interesting quotes, one in reference to "Chinese" brands:

When you look at a device that cost $48, how much security did the manufacturer build into the camera? They do not have the money/time to care.

the presenter was also over-hyping Axis cameras a bit (the webinar was sponsored/co-presented by Axis who had a bit at the end). He was recommending Axis cameras for their better engineering (paraphrasing), meanwhile I have Fred's email in my inbox about the Axis vulnerability disclosures from today...

Also, just as a note, ADI used a really bad (IMO) webinar hosting software. You could see a list of all the attendees, and their email addresses or phone numbers (depending if they were dialed-in, or connecting via PC). Had about 30 people on the call, overall low turnout considering it was emailed out by ADI. Or maybe about right for their customer bases interest in learning about cyber security.

30 attendees for ADI is poor, though cybersecurity not likely a big concern for their dealers.

Remember finish up the Security101 / Axis charity post.

Spent today setting up ZKAccess.

It is pretty lousy.  Software is junky, had to call tech support twice to get it working.  Instructions are pretty bad.

Platform uses IIS and services like Lenel.

Installer is huge, 270 MB but the client is embedded, weird.

Also this stuff is clearly labeled ZKTeco, not ZKAccess, so the fact they are so belligerent on that distinction is stupid.

In loose terms, ZKAccess is comparable to Dahua Access but not nearly as cheap.

Assisted with finishing up door station - upgraded firmware on NVR back to 4.0 to see if the doorbell still gave a message when button was pressed.

Looked through Hik FTP.

Posted Hik-connect changes.

Moved more stuff up to new office.

Forgot to add that I installed and looked through some features of Hik-Central.

Mainly wrote up Hik door station report

Dahua IVS/smart codec checking. Put Dahua IVS test in queue. Will just set a couple up in the office for rough idea before doing anything else.

Checking on stock of the axis d2050, but A1 says still backordered. No one is showing stock, still.
