Mostly worked on Hik Wifi write-up and some other detail checking related to that.
Went through a few files on Hik FTP server, downloaded many for later review.
Setup conversation w/Mobotix CEO about CTO resignation for tomorrow. Also plan to ask him about OEM strategy, etc.
Reviewed Axis vulnerability announcements to prep for post on Friday when the bashis one is released.
Attended/recorded ADI "cyber security" webinar. A couple of interesting quotes, one in reference to "Chinese" brands:
When you look at a device that cost $48, how much security did the manufacturer build into the camera? They do not have the money/time to care.
the presenter was also over-hyping Axis cameras a bit (the webinar was sponsored/co-presented by Axis who had a bit at the end). He was recommending Axis cameras for their better engineering (paraphrasing), meanwhile I have Fred's email in my inbox about the Axis vulnerability disclosures from today...
Also, just as a note, ADI used a really bad (IMO) webinar hosting software. You could see a list of all the attendees, and their email addresses or phone numbers (depending if they were dialed-in, or connecting via PC). Had about 30 people on the call, overall low turnout considering it was emailed out by ADI. Or maybe about right for their customer bases interest in learning about cyber security.
