A member asked for recommendations on suppliers for cages to enclose surveillance cameras (this case, PTZs). For example, a gym type scenario where balls are being thrown that might hit / damage the camera.

Nov 03, 2018I don’t know that there is a specific cage but STI used to have some that would fit over the AD PTZ’s. Basically just a square or rectangular cage with the back open. Worked really well in a GYM.

Nov 21, 2018Cages seem possibly problematic for PTZ’s, since they are constantly auto-focused and might choose the wire to focus on.
What is the exact application? For protection from wayward balls in an indoor gym, why not use a larger acrylic dome?

Feb 02, 2024IK10? LOL. It sounds good until it meets a teenager with a skateboard hitting it with full force with the wheels. Smashed 3 "vandal resistant" cameras in less than 48 hours at a local skatepark.
