Hi All, for some time I have a good dome IR camera but could not use it since the image is really poor due to scratches on the cover. Finally I ordered NOVUS scratch remover and tested it. I have to say that it did not make any difference. It looks shinier but scratches still remain. So I am wondering does it work only on certain type of plastic also am I use it correctly?

Any thoughts?

what brand / model is the camera?  I'm just curious why you don't just replace the cover... I'm sure you can purchase a used one to use for parts if the manufacturer doesn't sell extra parts.

It is Surveon CAM 4365. I was not able to get a replacement cover that is why I am trying to fix the one I have.

Also, I think it has to do more with how deep the scratch is... Novus probably works on surface scratches hence the shiny look.

If it's not a PTZ/multi-imager, you can usually rotate the dome to find a small patch of polycarbonate that's not so bad.

I would but the other parts are colored to match the surface where it is installed. If I remove the paint it will also scratch and then I am at the beginning. I was thinking to use sand paper but not sure will I be able to restore it afterwards.
