Fake. News.
The marketing strategy of doubling-down on a pathetic failure just makes Knightscope appear like a running joke that even they do not take seriously.
Microsoft doesn't promote the sad, self-aware 'blue screen of death' as a proponent of anything in national print ads columns.
Once people realize Rosie can't deliver any real security value, she'll be delivering pizzas within 30 minutes or more.
My tinfoil hat theory: Knightscope already has a buyer. Knightscope is going to become a very well marketed test bed, and when Microsoft/Google/Tesla/Amazon/Apple/Rob Shaw/whoever swoops in and buys them, the mistakes will have been made and the mud will have been thrown. The buyer will dust them off, fix the glitches, and have a viable product, and the good reputation of the buyer will erase the past. Quite possibly the product will be oriented toward a different market segment all together.
