Does anyone remember 2013-2017 when it seemed like Hikvision, Dahua, and LTS support seemed to be rated as surprisingly good on here? That was especially true when compared to the price. It always seemed like people were rating Hikua support far beyond what would be expected from a product with $100 cameras. There were a lot of statements about how great those products were and statements like "Why would I pay $1000 for an Axis camera when my $100 brand X camera works just as well?" were rampant.
What has changed? Is it the reality of shrinking support in the US? Or, has the consequence of deploying low-cost products far and wide caught up with Hikua integrators? I am curious if deploying cameras 10% of the cost of the competition resulted in 10x the deployments and 10x the long-term service issues.
