Wow, great move by Hikvision. I suggested that Dahua do this as well, almost jokingly is if I knew that they wouldn't do it. Now Hikvision actually does it. Excellent step in the right direction.

Maybe Dahua would be interested in out-sourcing the running of a hotline from Hik, they would get their own incoming number, techs would answer “Hik” or “Dahua” based on which line was used. I’m sure the Hik techs could come up to speed on the Dahua vulnerabilities quite naturally.
Maybe if they didn't have so many issues they wouldn't need a dedicated hotline.
