I was using the IPVM camer finder to look for small corridor mode cameras. It does not seem to distinguish between 90 degree rotation and true corridor mode (e.g. 9x16). Example is Hikvision DS-2CD2522FWD-IS. I have one of these ceiling mounted and if you rotate 90 degrees it moves the image 90 degrees. Shouldn't Corridor mode reformat so that the image stays in the same orientation but is now framed in 9 wide by 16 tall ratio?
Corridor Mode Cameras - Shouldn't An Image Always Keep 9:16 Aspect Ratio?
Michael, I just need a little more info to get on the same page, are you looking in the Camera Finder at the corridor mode setting?
Or are you asking about the Landscape/Portrait selection in the Camera Calculator?
Michael,
That Hikvision camera should support corridor mode. How are you viewing it? If using a web browser, see my images below for help viewing a 9:16 image properly.
Above you will see that the camera looks stretched and bloated, not the tall narrow view you would expect from a 9:16 camera. Click on the bottom left icon labeled ASPECT RATIO.
Now choose 16:9 as your choice and the image should now show as the tall narrow image you were expecting.
Thanks John we will check that out! We did select the Corridor mode in the IPVM camera finder...
I think some cameras call it corridor mode and others don't. Our Dahua cameras don't have corridor mode but we can rotate the lens, and change some settings in the camera and it works fine.
