All Campus Security Cutting Out The Channel?

I came across a group out of Austin who appears to be building a "direct to consumer" model for schools. From what I understand, this is a pet project of Rob Shaw (Video Insight).  Is anyone familiar with them?  https://allcampussecurity.com/

Where the rubber meets the business road, we are different. Think of ACS as the "Pro Desk" at your favorite Home Depot. Then think of having a direct conversation about surveillance with grizzled physical security pros, but buying direct from HD online. Now you've got it. We are a collection of deeply experienced pros. The self-serve store you'll find at this site allows the ACS operation to keep selling and overhead costs down. We don't have trucks to roll or people to schedule. Our agenda is simple: We just want you and your team to be enabled, educated and equipped to manage, improve, actually own, your video security system. With our unique business model we can best help you put your budget to the most effective use: Securing your customers.

Good to hear from you, and thanks for reaching out with your question.

Yes, Rob Shaw is an investor in ACS. However, he left his post at Video Insight over six months ago.

To UM#1’s main question: All Campus Security is NOT cutting out the channel.  We ARE the channel, just working in a hybrid, lower-cost, find-a-need-and-fill-it business model. We build relationships - a large part of our growth comes from direct referrals by existing customers.

Our DIY approach satisfies a proven need among our education customer base: There are a surprisingly large number of customers who are looking for professional advice, design, configuration and products but either want to install, upgrade, and manage their electronic security with their own IT, Facilities and/or Operations staff. All Campus Security is a certified reseller of several brands of electronic security systems hardware, software and accessories, and serves K-12 & Higher Ed organizations, both Public & Private, nationwide.
