I am not sure if I agree that proprietary encryption is an advantage. Security by Obscurity is typically frowned upon ... for black box attacks and side channel attacks.
Is there a concern with "out of the box" AWS encryption beyond user key control?
There is no significant concern with AWS encryption, but when we asked if they had any specific cyber experience or background, they noted they are utilizing standard AWS features.
Brian, CEO James West has given us the following information, which I've summarized:
They are a few weeks away from making code downloadable to run on a customer's own Raspberry Pi, but in the meantime they can provide it on an interim basis if a customer gets in touch
All installations require a cloud adapter, as running on cameras and recorders directly was not reliable enough for them and SD cards were too volatile for frequent buffering
Their longer term goal is to make the code hardware agnostic so that customers can run it on any Linux or Windows machine
I remember the 30 days cloud recording being based on a certain number of events (which is why the price is quite a bit lower than competitors). Does anyone know if this is still the case?
Read a bit more on their website. Looks like they do record on motion. Wondering how this would work for SMB if a camera was pointed at a road or in a store.
