A November 2009 report claims that up to 25% of UK security installation providers are on the verge on closing by 2010. Specifically, analyst firm Plimsoll claims that 225 of 906 UK installation companies are in financial difficulties, 101 of which have generated a loss for 3 years in a row. Plimsoll believes that if this does occur, it will be healthy and reduce excessive entrants in the market.

While many, including myself, have predicted contraction and failure of firms, the rate of failure has been low with very few companies going bankrupt or exiting the market in the last 6 months.

With global spending now rising significantly, most companies make escape danger - at least until the next bubble bursts.
