In this first entry in a new series profiling access control companies, we profile Kantech, one of Tyco's platforms. This will lead to an upcoming access control vendor comparison report.

We examine Kantech's overall strengths, ideal customer market, pricing, and biggest gaps in this note.

Kantech's greatest strength is that Tyco also produces the other integration pieces such as intrusion (DSC) and video (Exacq, which is open from a camera standpoint). This integration does not cost anything extra, there are no extra licensing fees or SsA's that need to be maintained to ensure they work together. So many times we go to sites of customers where "integrations" between manufacturers are broken and can not be repaired because the companies have gone another direction. The Total cost of ownership for our fully integrated system is much lower than any others and guaranteed to work.

My comment above is not for promotion but awareness for those who are not familiar with Kantech products, specifically their Entrapass Go app.

very good subject, i just finish Tyco Kantech training and almost take all your feed back for the sysetm
