Taiwan Government Bans China Tech Including Dahua and Hikvision
Taiwan has banned using PRC China tech products across its government, including Dahua and Hikvision, ordering these be removed by the end of 2021. Watch the 90-second video to learn more:
The broad ban covers PRC hardware, software, and services "in order to avoid theft of government and intelligence information" and avoid "risking national cybersecurity".
Taiwan's move shows more countries - including one with an ethnically Chinese majority - are joining an expanding movement (e.g., the USA NDAA and the UK Foreign Affairs Committee's recommendation).
In this post, IPVM examines this ban and its impact.
