Small to Medium Businesses (SMB) have been hotly pursued by lower-cost entrants over the past few years.

Nowhere has that been as strong a factor as in the camera segment.

But who are the favorites amongst integrators?

5 top manufacturer choices were revealed in IPVM's survey results of 135 integrators - the followup to our 2015 results. In this note, we examine how Chinese companies like Dahua and Hikvision fared against Western companies like Axis and Avigilon.

Small businesses are just as, or more, susceptible to cyber attacks due to insecure IoT devices than large corporations. It is the integrator's job to educate the customer not only on their physical security, but also on their network security and not put devices that have been plagued with network security issues and have been flagged by the FBI as unsafe devices. Yea, you might lose a sale now and then, but you will be known for doing the right thing. Just my $.02

I have good success with trusted Korean and Western manufacturers. I always educate my customers. I do not "bad-mouth" the Chinese manufacturers, but do let the customer know about the concern of putting devices in their network that pose a security risk. I find that most customers (even the tightwads) tend to listen to my reasoning when it comes to the security of their networks.

I'm shocked Supercircuits, Cantonk and Longse were not much higher!  Perhaps China has firewalled IPVM to limit your growth and reduce your threat to the Empire!

as i can see no local brands which import from other Chinese factories, like Longse/Cantonk but not only, Sunell, Dowse, Nihon, IRlab, RDS/V-Streamax, Topsee, Ruision, Jufeng/XM, TVT...

i didn`t mean all, but i think many local brnads import ipc/nvrs for SMB from such factories, but is there no feedback? coz, only Hik, Dahua, Hanwa, Univew, Axis, Avigilon... of course theyare largest players, but im just confused- nooone other has a market share?

Yes, among Western integrators, I am confident those brands have very little support relative to the companies making the list.

One factor is that many of those companies OEM (e.g., XM, Sunell, TVT) so they would more likely show up under the companies they OEM to. But even for that, their brands are low in integrator support. 

Btw, I have no idea who Dowse, Ruision, RDS/V-streamax even are. Maybe they are popular in China or somewhere but again, I am quite confident they are not significant players in the West.

just an example, actaully Dowse, Irlab are old companies who does oem for some famous companies (of course i mean in Russia). they does own solution, that is why i mentioned them, and its two professional cameras factories, but of corse much smaller than XM or Jovision...

Rusion or Ruivision- pcb board provider like a XM as well, with own solution, like Topsee, but in comparison with XM- Huatu, Ruision, Topsee, JVT are much much less famous solution so, usually not so easy to meet, but my question was about other local brands...

That makes sense to me.

The pattern we see is that a factory is not going to get significant integrator up take (even in the SMB where low cost is key) unless they have local distribution and a fairly heavy sales, marketing and support infrastructure.

Taking the US, if a camera is not sold at ADI nor Tri-Ed and they only have a few 'factory' people in the US, their sales are guaranteed to be relatively quite low, as these will be disqualifiers for most integrators regardless of low price or high product quality.
