Days after a spirited defense of analog and a scathing critique by us, SecurityInfoWatch has reversed course on the future of analog.
In its original post, SIW declared analog's strength and dominance:
- "Don't Count Analog Video Out Yet"
- "Analog Video Still Dominates the Market"
- "Analog is Holding on to Marketshare"
- Analog is "80% or better of the overall video surveillance market"
Now SIW demurs:
"While [analog] will certainly be surpassed by IP video, is surprisingly still being used by some installers and end users"
What happened SIW? I thought analog 'dominated' and is 'holding on'? Now SIW is surprised that even some people are still using it???
