Significant Sales Decline Summer 2009

Author: John Honovich, Published on Dec 15, 2009

Vicon's sales continue to fall with summer 2009 sales falling the hardest so far in 2009. In December 2009, Vicon announced their fiscal Q409 (calendar summer 09) results with net sales down 23% compared to 1 year ago. As we examined in our publicly traded video surveillance directory, earlier this year, Vicon's revenue was only trending down 5%-10%.

Vicon joins a diverse group of major manufacturers whose revenue rate continues to fall including March Network's Nov 2009 announcement of a 24% decline and Axis's 11% drop measured in local currency.

While most agree that the global economy is picking up at the end of 2009, many manufacturer results indicate the video surveillance industry is not necessarily following that pattern.
