SIA: "Refrain From Working With Companies And/or Products That Are Implicated In Human Rights Abuses" Like Dahua and Hikvision
The US (Security Industry Association) SIA has taken a stand, declaring that 'any organization fielding facial recognition technology' should 'refrain from working with companies and/or products that are implicated in human rights abuses'.
SIA's move comes less than a year after the US implicated Dahua and Hikvision for human rights abuses for their over $1 billion in direct contracts in Xinjiang.
However, SIA refused to cite SIA members Dahua and Hikvision by name.
