Secutech Taipei 2019 Show Report, Impacted By Expected Hikua Ban

By: Charles Rollet, Published on May 08, 2019

IPVM went to Taipei to attend SecuTech 2019:

The most significant new development at the show is Dahua and Hikvision pulling out after many years of exhibiting, and Taiwanese manufacturers hoping they can benefit after years of challenges.

They expect the Taiwanese government to ban Dahua and Hikvision equipment from all government use and more.

In this post, we examine the companies’ absence, examine reactions from Taiwan manufacturers and possible issues, along with giving our general impressions of the show:

  • Hikvision and Dahua Absence Explained
  • Taiwan President Praises New Rules
  • Taiwan Manufacturers Reaction
  • Regulatory Issues: OEM and HiSilicon
  • General Show Impressions
