Good suggestion, but if your not carpenter, or capable of installing these humongous slider style doors, what are the recommendations for easily installed openers?

Sliders are just one style of opener. The swing type is where most retrofit type units are applied. The good news is that multiple manufacturers offer these units.

Here's a partial list of 3rd party / retrofit options, there are many more too:

Good topical article, especially given many reports that people touching their faces with their unwashed hands is the number one method of transmission. I hope that one of the positives to come out of this is substantial measures to limit the need to touch various objects that contribute to spreading disease.

Obviously entryways will go under design for CDC compliance, good chance for a tech companies to oust some of the old ball architects and ancient designasuarus rex.

Perhaps start with local grocery stores that already have these in place and add bluetooth access control. Everyone will have access however you will need a phone app to get in.

In order to track virus spread we need all the data we can get, good bye freedom.

At first I thought "door operator" was some phrase suggesting you repurpose guard service staff to open the door for customers so the customer never touches the door. Where do I download the "IPVM to English" dictionary so I would have known what a "door operator" is? (and remember the freeze spray stunt, ensure the doors close tightly when you finish the install...)

Just had webinar today on Norton 5800 series (we never gave these much thought). Very cool. Also have cool touch free ADA wave paddles.

You would have thought that McDonalds, at this point, would solve the problem of grabbing the bathroom handle after you wash your hands. That design flaw always makes no sense to me, everywhere you go. Can you imagine getting the McDonalds bathroom door operator contract?

Are those Norton 5800 units a single tech install, or do they recommend more than one installer?

One tech 5800 Series ADAEZ

The larger units now come in a modular configuration to support single tech install.

The bathroom door is only the first point of contact, what about the stall?

I was taking about once you finish up, wave your hand under the sink (and get cold water because the water heater on other side of building), get some soap (that sometimes is not empty), and push the dryer button (oops, repeat step one), now you have to exit and come up with a strategy for that. The stalls come before this.

Aren’t there engineers or codes to properly design a method to properly go to the bathroom. I am pretty sure mankind has been doing this for awhile now.

Those are a good idea. The should come with a little plaque that says “look down”. You would think restaurant inspection would have code requiring hands free solutions exiting bathrooms.
