North American Megapixel Companies Expand into Europe

Avigilon is the latest North American megapixel manufacturer to expand sales efforts into the European market. Avigilon has hired 3 regional sales directors to over EMEA [link no longer available].
Earlier this year, we noted that Arecont was hiring heavily for sales managers in Europe. This is in addition to IQinVision who has had a sales team in Europe for some time.
These efforts will increase competition with local leaders Mobotix and Axis.
On the other hand, Axis is quite strong in the North American market, generating 50% of total global revenues there. Additionally, Mobotix is expanding in the US.
