Can the MOBOTIX VMS integrate with cameras other than their own and this new MOVE series?

Hi John:

Yes MxMC 2.0 (and also our new MxNAS) can integrate with any ONVIF-complient camera as well as the MOVE range and our core IoT range.

Joe, ONVIF's official conformant directory does not list any Mobotix devices (cameras nor VMS / MxMC 2.0) as supporting ONVIF:

Is this an error on ONVIF's part or?

Thanks, the cameras not showing was my error.

What about MxMC 2.0? It lists ONVIF support but I still do not see that coming up on the official ONVIF directory.

Hi John,- correct...

we faced a "formal" mistake/reject along the recent ONVIF S registration of MxMC2.0 as we proofed the MxMC2.0 ONVIF conformity with several conformant 3rd party cameras as the standard requires. But not the camera FW listed on the ONVIF Homepage being conformant as we used the latest FW of those suppliers ofcourse. We actually retested with ONVIF listed 3rd party cameras FW and will be present within the next weeks sure.

I can see a point to this only in the sense that MxMC supports these new cams. Other than that, it strikes me as a weakening of the Mobotix brand that's been greatly valued (at least by us) as a uniquely robust, compact and hi-performance system with tons of exotic capability and excellent wireless / solar-power compatibility.

Just received this informative content from Mobotix, lots of useful info regarding training videos etc.

Mobotix Product Update

This is atypical, Mobotix is charging for use of H.264:

At any MxMC workstation, any number of MOBOTIX MOVE cameras with H.264 can be integrated into an MxMC workstation indefinitely for a one-time fee for an Integration Starter License!...

Due to the patent protection of H.264, (only small) license fees are incurred, but they are compensated again thanks to reduced storage costs. [emphasis added]

~$100 for the license, according to this B&H photo listing.

Does one need to pay per workstation? i.e., each computer or?

Here is a summary:

Mobotix needs to get back to the what they do best and expand on what makes them and their loyalist unique.  All this time, money and effort to integrate with everyone else’s VMS but their own and to become the next me too camera company with the Move camera line is without a doubt, absolutely weakening the brand and those who currently sell it and will soon mean the end to Mobotix, the current Management team and the customers who want to sell their products.  They had such a unique opportunity to right the ship and should have first focused on internal issues where they could have truly been a leader in video surveillance, IoT, security and the cloud but refused to listen and are completely missing the boat and sadly are just slowly fading away into obscurity.
