One of the leading security publications and show organizations in the Asian market, ASMAG, has been acquired by Messe Frankfurt, a major trade show organizer best known for its Middle East security conference, Intersec.
In a November 2009 article, ASMAG explains the rationale and impact. ASMAG states that they brands for both magazines and conferences. The organizations will combine forces to grow conferences and publications.
While North American and European readers may not know either company well, ASMAG is prominent in Asia.
While the integration of conferences and publications are common globally, both are business that face long decline and competition from the Internet. It will be interesting to see how all of these providers migrate to and evolve on the Web.
