LA County Deployment Explained

Author: John Honovich, Published on Oct 05, 2009

At ASIS, the LA County police directly described their experience and use of their wireless video surveillance system using Firetide's mesh wireless routers. (Firetide first announced this deployment in June 2008).

LA County praised the high quality and frame rate of the video as well as the usefulness of the system.

One surprising element was that the system only consists of a total of 30 cameras with current plans to add 5-10 cameras more every 6 months.

Checking with Firetide on the small size of this deployment, Firetide responded that they have many significantly larger deployments but have restrictions from their customers on what they can publicly disclose.
