Intergraph, ASIS and SAIC on Standards

Author: John Honovich, Published on Oct 27, 2009

Given Intergraph and SAIC's significant presence in large scale security systems, especially for government and military applications, they would benefit from interoperability standards.

On November 4, 2009, they are hosting a webinar with ASIS on emerging standards (register on the ASIS website).

In an e-mail, a webinar panelist elaborated, "The main standards I will be speaking about are OGC (mapping standards)and NIEM (National Information Exchange Model). One specific is a NIEM based interface that is approved by ANSI for interfacing central station alarm data with Public Safety Answering points.

While PSIA and ONVIF specifications will not be discussed, these other standards are likely complimentary and beneficial in enhancing overall security system interoperability.
