Sean, great work!

Sean is at the show all day today so if you have things you want him to check out, let us know in the comments.

Btw, the IACP press pass has the largest / boldest 'PRESS" display I have seen. Given Trump's speech and the political tension, being press there is drawing attention, to say the least.

Erik Estrada (Ponch from CHIPs) is at the Omnigo booth at IACP just as he was at GSX:

And new line to see him and get an autograph is almost as long as the Trump lineup.

I used to sell a throwble law enforcement camera, Remington named it something but it was made by ODF in Isreal, and everyone wanted it to have wheels to redeploy once thrown. I hadn't thought about those in a long time now but it's nice to see someone reviving the idea.

Now I'm going to wait for an update on the rifle fired camera I used to have!

The throw-able camera is not a terrible idea, until the mob throws it back.  Then it is kind of silly.

I believe the military has something similar for combat teams.  Toss it into a building, get an idea of the layout before you breach it.

i used to do this show a few years ago. it is very good, but only relevant for law enforcement, for companies targeting commercial projects it is not a good fit.

Mystery Void at IACP Annual Conference.

Over 200 workshops and seminars were available for attendees from all across the globe.

We observed that none, zero, had any reference to police response for private alarms systems, even though it can consume up to 18% of a police department budget.  We asked why?  Some of the response (consolidated below)….

“…It is no longer a problem for most munis.  The priority for police response to calls from off-site monitoring firms, to unknown, unwitnessed events, has been lowered to level of “nuisance”.   After many decades of experience, and “workshops”, we know that most private alarms systems are focused on deterring threats to private property, not threats to people. And nearly all calls for help from private monitoring firms are error, false, unnecessary…. thus the low or no priority, which is consistent with most IACP members across the globe.  IACP has already recognized VR-Verified Response, SR-Subsidy Recovery, and B&F-Broadcast & File as viable alternates, so no need to repeat again and again at national conferences.…”.
