Dahua and Hikvision Criticize False FCC Reports, Tout Selling Existing Products
Hikvision and Dahua criticized false reports of an FCC ban on their products, stating their US sales are largely unaffected by the new regulations and touting that they can still sell existing products "for years to come."
News headlines declaring a total "ban" are indeed inaccurate since the FCC ruling has no impact (yet) on previously-authorized products while the FCC also created a restricted pathway for the firms to authorize new products.
In this report, IPVM examines Hikvision and Dahua's responses, the headlines themselves, and the actual status of their gear in the US in the wake of the FCC ruling.
