Growing Sales of NVR Appliances

By: John Honovich, Published on Dec 06, 2009

Intransa reports growing sales [link no longer available] of its appliances that pre-loads many of the leading VMS software packages (see our overview report on this offering and the September 2009 update on expansion of the line).

Intransa states, "The June 2009 introduction of Intransa VideoAppliance led to record sales for the company. A sharp increase in sales followed the 2009 New Product of the Year award at ASIS International 2009."

Intransa reports 3 new hires, including 1 newly created position. Additionally, they note expansion of Accounts Receivable to accommodate the growth in appliance sales.

The benefits of pre-loading VMS software is clear but the premium of Intransa's appliances over COTS computers is significant. It will be interesting to see if Intransa's success in this offering attracts lower cost competitors and alternative offerings.
