This startup's product claims to 'Kill the Password' you use to keep your computers safe.

They have already released their Gatekeeper Halberd token that enables user location to secure Network/ Computer Access, and automatically uses strong 50-character passwords in a wireless dongle.

Now the company has hired longtime Verint and Lenel director Joshua Phillips for its expansion into the physical security market.

We spoke with him to understand those plans and to learn more about the product, analyze its strengths, weaknesses, and pricing compared to similar offerings.

I'm sure there are some extra security features in here, but I've been doing this with my mobile phone for years.  I think having another dedicated device to carry around isn't what most people want.  We already carry our phones everywhere we go and using that to login to our computers and unlock doors is probably the direction most would like to go.  Also, with things like WebAuthn on the horizon, I don't see many people willing to adopt this when more cost effective options are right around the corner.
