Salient is introducing a hybrid DVR appliance called the S500. The S500 will be a lower cost option to their existing RM-1000. The appliance is designed for small site deployments up to 25 cameras using the Small Business version of their VMS called ONE.

On the analog side, the S500 supports 16 channel inputs and a total of 240 frames/4CIF. The appliance can mix and match up to a total of 25 cameras, including any of the IP cameras Salient supports. The entry level unit provides 500 GB of storage with 1 drive bay. The MSRP is $3,500 USD. The applaince's software can be upgraded to the higher end VMS versions.

For those seeking greater camera count or storage, Salient positions the RM-1000 supporting 16 channels analog, 500fps, and 1TB storage for an MSRP of $4,999 USD.
