Anyvision also has $40+ million in VC funding and can spend $100,000+ for a booth
They also are spending a lot less on a sales team than Genetec, generating additional "savings".
What does ISC West think about 'Emerging Technology'?
Well, last year, they put those companies in the basement. This year, they moved them up to the main floor, sort of. ISC West has buried the 'Zone' behind the no-brand China zone, as shown below:
In this note, we examine the 'Emerging Technology Zone', share feedback from ISC West about it and examine some of the 'emerging' and not so 'emerging' companies exhibiting.

If NFL Teams marketed like ISC West:
I don't know if this will be worse than last year's dungeon but I will check it out. I did have good, even valuable, conversations in the ETZ last year and I'm hopeful for this to lead more foot traffic in to it.
Lots of deep techie coversations. The one that stood out the most was regarding transcoding and encasplation methods
GVision is a true manufacturer who has factory in Taiwan and Korea. Also, your GVision links lead to a different website.
Jay, from GVision USA, thanks for responding.
(1) Do you think your company is 'emerging technology' or a startup? The company says it was founded in 1998, e.g. and LinkedIn lists 6 employees:
I am sure there is a factory. Does GVision own it? And how are you a 'true manufacturer' with just 6 employees on LinkedIn? In my decade of covering the industry, I have never seen a 'true manufacturer' with 6 employees on LinkedIn.
To be clear, I have no objection with your company generally nor about it being at ISC West, I just can't see how it can reasonably be described as 'emerging technology'.
GVision is new in the security industry and this is the main reason why we decided to stay here until this year. Of course we own our factory and our main HQ is Taiwan and our office in the US runs the sales and operation for the America territory. It’s unfortunate that you evaluate the company by LinkedIn information only without verifying the true information. It’s beneficial reading your article for the people in this industry and we respect your work. However, we hope you are covering the fact only and not your personal opinion. Thank you.

have you lost control of your LinkedIn account?

Being new to the industry is fine. But what you are offering (LCDs, touch screens, digital signage) is not. It's not 'emerging technology'. And you are not a startup, so it cheapens and dilutes companies that are genuinely trying something new.
As for you being a 'true manufacturer', you should provide some proof to back it up, specifically 'owning' not just 'having' factories. There is a GVision Taiwan website but it too is quite vague, only in English (normally real factories have Chinese version websites), no management team page, no pictures of factories or details about the factory, etc. I am happy to issue a correction if you can provide proof but proof is not simply saying you are, sans evidence.
Not being a 'true manufacturer' is worse, but whatever you are, touch screen monitors from a 20-year-old company is not 'emerging technology'.
@Jay you really don't want to be digging your own grave. Your off to a bad start already.
Kind of surprised to see CamCloud over there. I figured they would have a small booth on the main floor for sure.
From some of what has been discussed in the comments here, I think the ETZ is really the "cheap seats", even moreso than the 10x10 booths that typically line the back aisles and corners. This looks like a way for ISC to try and lure in new companies by naming the budget section something cool, and hoping those companies will upgrade to "real" booths in the future.
I pass by the Chinese area every year although most of the stuff is junk over there.
I think the main reason they moved the "emerging technology" upstairs is that that ball room was sad and half empty last year, i think few pavilions canceled and it showed.
In the past there were more countries other than China and Korea but i guess they all figured it's a waste of money.
ETZ is the cheap seats!!! That said, as an emerging company and a start up, I am not inclined to spend $30K for a 10x10 when I can spend a third of that and still be on the show floor. I am taking a bit of a leap of faith- after all, I am hoping that people who want to see ACKData will come and find us despite of the location- but if it does not work, I can always be on the show floor next year.
It is awesome to raise 40MM in VC funding and have a giant booth but that is a lot of product to sell to recoup that expense. First ISC West with the new company I am taking advantage of the financial benefit of the ETZ.
