This is a tad misleading, to blame the Coronavirus, even partially, for the Bosch-Sony relationship going south. When there is so much misinformation and panic about the virus, it was irresponsible of Bosch to latch onto the current events to justify promoting their own brand. It was also irresponsible of IPVM to create the graphic above for the article, which is a lot more misleading than the article itself.

Amit, Please read the article again. The Sony situation has been deteriorating for years and we made that very clear in the post. The point here is that the lack of supply further deterioration whatever was left of their partnership.

John, I dont need to re-read the article. I didn't have a problem with the article. The details present the truth in a balanced way. But if somebody doesn't read the whole article, the title and the graphic are panic-inducing.

I agree with you on the title, if i didnt read the article i wouldn't really understand the situation, the title is a bit misleading, but the content is understandable.

If you all have suggestions for an alternative title, please submit and we'll consider.

The challenges with titles are trying to balance brevity, accuracy, and fairness. This is a fairly complex, abnormal situation so it's not easy to compact in a title.

How about simply "Bosch drops Sony as video surveillance partner"?

That is factually false. Bosch has not technically dropped Sony as a video surveillance partner. The partnership, in its incredibly weakened form, still exists.

I think the title fits. Sony was hit with the virus and Bosch decided to capitalize on it. You can get that bit of info directly even from the quote from Bosch.

Sony has not been able to supply most of their models for months. They fired all of their rep firms 3 Months ago. For BOSCH to blame the Sony situation on Corona Virus is pretty shady.

Bosch was already trying to flip all SONY sales to BOSCH before the Corona Virus.
