I'm Scott Thomas and I handle the Retail Vertical Market for Genetec.
SCO (Self Check Out) monitors are a basic deterent to not scanning items or other SCO fraud, however, in today's world where you have a single employee monitoring multiple registers, they will only marginally impact SCO shrink.
Genetec has released a new EBR (Exception Based Reporting) product called Transaction Finder. One of the features of Transaction Finder is the ability to stream live register transactions and overlay them on real time video during checkout
This benefit is twofold - first it provides a stronger deterrent to potential fraudsters by showing their Transaction is being monitored in addition to their video being recorded.
Secord is it gives the employee working the SCO corral (or any Loss Prevention Associate Monitoring at store or remote) a real time view of what is and isn't scanned by the customer. This gives the store the ability to react in real time to an identified fraudulant event
Feel free to reach out to me if you'd like any additional information
