Kudos to Axis For Fixing Their Deceptive Commercial

Published Feb 22, 2016 05:00 AM

Two months ago, Axis released a deceptive commercial. We called them on that immediately but Axis did nothing.

Last week, we contrasted how Axis' competitor, Avigilon, released a real commercial. Now, Axis has taken action.

First, Axis added a disclaimer at the end of the deceptive commercial with a text message noting the video was not shot with an Axis camera even though the whole commercial implied that it was. Now, Axis has released a new real video of their 4K speeddome.

I like the new Axis real video the best of the 3, specifically because it shows real video in real time. By contrast, the time lapse of the Avigilon video certainly has artistic merit but obscures its real (low) frame rate. Certainly, both are far better than Axis' first commercial.

I was thinking the same thing about the Avigilon commercial; how LOW is the frame rate on that 7K? What are they hiding by speeding up the video into timelapse?

6fps @ 7K.
