Axis 2N WaveKey Mobile Access Control Tested

By Brian Rhodes and Derek Ward, Published Nov 18, 2021, 10:26am EST

Axis' 2N intercom business has expanded into mobile access credentials with WaveKey. Despite 2N not being a common access reader vendor, the company makes bold claims about WaveKey's speed, reliability, and security compared to competitors.

IPVM Image

IPVM purchased the Axis 2N IP Verso and Bluetooth module to test WaveKey and see how it performs, examining:

  • 4 key positives and 4 key negatives with 2N's WaveKey functionality
  • Numerous images, 4 gifs, and 3+ videos showing how WaveKey and the 2N Verso unit performed during our tests
  • 2N WaveKey and Verso pricing
  • Reviewing access logs across various methods.
  • User creation and credential enrollment.
  • Strong automatic firmware operability.
  • WaveKey vs. HID Signo.
  • WaveKey vs. Openpath

We tested the 2N Verso intercom earlier in Axis 2N Intercom Tested.
