i just fail to understand how cloud based analytics can actually claim realtime. i would love to test your solution though with my uniview setup which has poor ai and analytics.
No hardware / installation means they are putting the onus on the customer to get their IT people to figure out some way to provide Actuate a way to connect inside their network to access the cameras, or did I miss something in the article or the video? Especially when 90% of camera networks are closed loop, standalone without Internet access.
This is a very key piece of information and something a lot of these startup cloud based companies miss. Smart companies know from the start they will have a much better chance of success if they have a gateway device option (or install software agent) that goes inside the camera network that creates a connection back to the cloud service, thus greatly simplifying the process by not requiring port forwarding or a VPN solution for the cloud service, and making the IT department's job a lot simpler.
I would politely suggest that all articles about cloud based solutions like this that claim such things as "no hardware or special software to install", have at least 1 or 2 clarifying sentences about how that cloud service expects to connect to the customer's equipment. In over a decade of security tech and IT experience, it is no small issue.
