Verkada has fired three employees over an incident where female colleagues were sexually harassed on Slack over a year ago, with Verkada's CEO declaring "I am sorry" that "our initial disciplinary measures fell short" even though days ago he said he "felt confident we had dealt with this issue".

The move comes after unprecedented scrutiny on Verkada caused by VICE bringing national attention to the incident. In contrast, when IPVM originally revealed the Slack incident, Verkada's CEO wrote in a company-wide email "I stand by our team" and "all incidents brought to us" have been "investigated diligently".
