Panasonic Favorability Results 2019

Published Mar 27, 2019 14:23 PM

Panasonic favorability declined, as the company struggled to find its way amidst a changing market and its ill-timed decision to become a Dahua OEM. With 200+ integrator responses, the main themes shared were:

  • Dated / dead / behind the times
  • OEMing a bad idea
  • High Quality
  • Too expensive
  • Concerns about Support

The most common integrator vote was 'neutral' as the results below show, though even neutral respondents generally had concerns.

Inside this note, we examine those concerns and share dozens of integrator comments.

For clarification, in the US, Panasonic has 2 separate security camera offerings...iPro and Advidia.  Technically they are both under the Panasonic umbrella, but the Advidia cameras are 100% OEM'd and iPro is manufactured by Panasonic.  The Advidia product was folded in to Panasonic through the acquisition of VideoInsight and is primarily kept for legacy VI customers.  There was a short period of time that Panasonic included the Dahua brand in its 'value series' offering but those products were discontinued in conjunction with the NDAA ban.
