Anker/Eufy has been pretty aggressive marketing this on Facebook as well. For me, the Evercam pops up as a sponsored ad frequently:
Chinese Manufacturer Kickstarter Campaign Huge Success (EverCam)
In a week, a Chinese manufacturer's expertly done Kickstarter campaign has received $1.4 million in pledges, an incredible amount for a video surveillance product.
By contrast, mega-manufacturer Honeywell's recent crowdfunding campaign made 80% less than that in 2 months.
In this note, we examine EverCam, the company's fascinating corporate background and how well their marketing campaign has been.

I see their retargeting as well....
...and each time i see that ad I wonder again where they got the magnetic tree from
I probably should have watched the video first before I made that lame joke....
I see the base has screw mounts. duh.
if all the features are not exaggerated, it will kill all the home camera at once. still I can not believe before I see.
I almost jumped in on the Kickstarter, but I also won't believe it until I see it. Plus I figure i can wait six months and it will be 50% cheaper!
Anker are good marketing and have a very successful presence on Amazon, one of the top selling companies for chargers and accessories.
It's a fact they don't make most of the products themselves. And rely on others to produce.
Kickstarter error. Bank grade encryption is not 128bit it's 256bit, simple google search shows this.
Funny they quote fast charging, if this device works for a year you really think a fast charge makes any benefit! I would of thought keeping a slow charge would be better for the cells to last longer. When you only charge once a year (scoff!)
For reference from an available manufacturer of a low power battery device.
Using 3 x 2900mA batteries, a 10/second event from a sleep as in the motion for small time and recording would allow the device to handle 6,000 such events on one charge.
So if you have just 16 such events/day, then this would last one year.
Maybe inside a fridge, it would last that long! Depending if you are a Fridge Hog.
So what keeps the magnetic base and camera in position? It's stick it and forget it easy to install, but that makes it equally easy to adjust or steal for a vandal.
Exactly, they could just easily steal the camera itself. Even steal the base, if they’re quick they will get it before the footage is uploaded to the cloud.
What really impressed me is the app, all the big name VMS/NVR Smartphone apps have failed to impress me so far. Two way audio and infrared are inexpensive to add and gives the app that wow factor and handy functionality.
Evercam now at $2 million with a month to go:
