Guys in fairness the Geovision EDR2100 is not a great camera and would be be one of there top products. You should do a test between the Bullet range e.g EBL2100 and above
John, we test like form factors against each others as much as possible. If there is a better Geovision dome at somewhat similar price, we would consider. Let us know what you recommend for domes.
EFD2100 is the same platform as EDR2100.
There is no significant difference in the image quality of both.
If going to do additional tests, I recommend the EVD2100 (2MP Starvis, but only support H.264 codec) or EDR4700 (4MP, support with H.265 Smart stream).
Geovision...yawn. Only thing they have going is despite the crappy image, the cameras always seem to function. They’re too proud of their prices for something that doesn’t have great image. They better stop relying on their name and step up to the plate on performance otherwise they’re the next pelco.
You had me at ActiveX controls. Thanks
I'm using Geo H.265 smart codec cam (BL3700) but it consumes much bandwidth and the detail of the subject are collapsing, compared with Dahua HFW8331E.
In short a NR function and compression algorithm looks poor.
Also it does not have the IVA function other than motion and tamper detection and video analytics function of GV-VMS is not good precision.
I've been using Geo for many years but I can't stand to see present situation.
If they are satisfied with the present situation, sooner or later become pelco, I think.
LENS parameters? 2.8mm or 6mm? distance up to15m
UD#3 I would agree. I don't think they have the ability to develop software that works without patches. Total disappointment on cheap entry level cameras as well. To compete with hikvision they give you plastic housings and its just poor quality construction. When adjusting those entry level cameras they feel like they are going to break. I lost interest when I tried to RMA several thousand dollars worth of bullet cameras that had clearly leaked through the wiring entry. You could see the water trail down inside of the camera housing. They told me I installed the lens cover improperly and didn't warranty them. That really tweaked me I wasn't aiming them at planes. I never had that problem again. "Never bought another one" and never will.
