From a Hikvision letter to dealers after the launch of EZVIZ

EZVIZ is a line of DIY consumer lifestyle products designed for residential use. Based in California, EZVIZ Inc. launched its product line in the United States on October 15.
These products, which include cameras and recorders, are designed to compete in the quickly growing Internet of Things (IoT) market, joining other manufacturers as
GoPro, Lorex, Dropcam, iBaby, and Nest. EZVIZ’s target customers are individual consumers rather than commercial users, which is reflected in its pricing strategy, marketing, and product positioning. The hardware, software, and operation
structure of EZVIZ products are distinctly different from Hikvision products, which is due to intentional differentiation of the two product families.

In short, EZVIZ and Hikvision are two independent brands that focus on two
different markets, are sold through two different channels
, and are serviced by two
separate support structures.

Hikvision is doing too much right now. They need to take a few steps back and focus a little. When they first started to really take off in the US as a brand 5 years ago it seemed like they really had something. Now while many of their products are good. It seems like their company is dissorganized, ignoring all of their security issues it feels like they're not paying attention to any one product enough to develop it and make it great.

I guess when you're operating on Chinese Monopoly money you can just keep burning money.

We need more access to DVR and Camera configurations thru Hik P2P thru web interface for this to catch on with professional integrators. All we can do right now is view video and playback.

We can access configurations thru IVMS4200 with P2P but its incredibly slow.
