Jeff Bezos-Funded Deep Sentinel Security Startup

So evidently they are aiming to solve that.

Maybe all of this IPVM feedback is just part of smart market research by Dave Selinger and colleagues. Lots of valuable market and product feedback from lots of talented people, at no cost, before launching a product…. by making it look like the product is ready for launch.

Deep Sentinel, David Selinger, follow-up.   They missed their launch date (again) of 4^th qtr. 2018.  Anybody know anything more….?

Is this a common security marketing technique: take common crime stories and report on them, and then show how better the outcome would have been with a product that doesn’t exist yet?????

Violent home invaders armed with a meat cleaver, a mace and a wooden pole attacked a Pennsylvania couple in their home recently. Two hooded strangers, a man and a woman, charged into Aric and Joey Maczis’s Littlestown PA house in the middle of the night.

Maczis immediately started to defend himself and his wife but the male invader began striking him with the meat cleaver.

“… it felt like we were going to die," Joey Maczis told Fox News and other local media.  “I didn’t think my husband was going to make it out," she added...

...Although the Maczis home was equipped with an alarm system, it failed to alert them to the home invaders.

“We have an alarm system that dings but we didn’t hear that because we were playing cards,” Maczis said.

If they had Deep Sentinel, the home invaders would have been intercepted before they even reached the door. Deep Sentinel combines the best artificial intelligence technology with the best 24/7 human surveillance. Sure, if there was a product then it would have instantly detected the home invaders at the curb, discerned their intentions using AI, then trained hostage negotiators would begin verbal engagement before they even reach the door.   No need to even bother the homeowner!

We respect the Deep Sentinel market research. They have done an excellent job of identifying a public/private “problem” with public safety, nationwide in the US. We believe they have not yet found the “solution”, as announced. Hopefully they will keep looking for a solution that has global application.

So it looks like the company has talked about its hardware, but has it said anything about its software, and whether it is self-authored or third party (say, Amazon Rekognition)?

This has to be one of the oddest looking cameras yet. I am very curious to read the test results when they come out!
