Yes, it was, but not quite all the way as it was getting too much of the tripod it was mounted on in the shot.
Vivotek rep dropped one of these off a few months ago. They seem to do better in long rooms. When placed in large areas or in wide rooms the resulting images left me disappointed. It is a neat design though and I like how they sloped the top of it. Apparently its "anti-ligature" so inmates wont hang themselves on the camera.
We use these in pharmacies where there's a counter against the wall and the client needs to see what technicinans are doing at the counter. Rather than looking down from above or having multiple cameras we put one of these right in the middle of the wall/counter just above eye level. Provides a great view of the full counter and whos standing there. We also use these in corners where you've got a 90-degree turn in a hallway and want to see the full corner and down both halls. I have some issues with getting the sub stream to stream smoothly in Spectrum not if I play around with the image settings I can get it to work right. We've used both 1 and 3MP.
I guess the anti-ligature idea might be a hot button for certain vertical markets, but wouldn't a ceiling mount just eliminate the need? How many round bubble domes would support ligature? I would guess not many.
I haven't used this camera yet but we have been using Axis's Intercom with the fisheye camera with great results. Mounting them above readers or next to doors has worked very well for getting ID shots of people.
Are you sure this camera has Smart Stream? VIVOTEK does not mention this in it's original specifications...
You're right, it's not listed in the specs for some reason. But it is for sure Smart Stream.
Also, this camera is not a new model, VIVOTEK sells CC8370-HV since April/May 2015
Vivotek has released a new model in their wall mount line, the CC8371, which has similar specs to the CC8370, but includes 15m IR and a slightly updated design.
