The incredibly popular IPVM Camera Calculator has added a number of improvements.

Corridor Mode Support

Now, the calculator will show you what cameras rotated 90 degrees will look like with a click of a button:

And it works in Google Maps StreetView as well:

You simply select the new toggle between conventional and corridor in the FoV Preview:

It works with any resolution and you can pick any of the 4,000+ camera models we support.

The main limitation is that the corridor preview only works with 100° max AoV from conventional mode.

PPF Tracking Added

You can now see how the PPF (or PPM) level change inside a camera's FoV simply by moving your mouse around.

This helps better understand the tradeoffs between distance and pixel density levels. In addition, we are still considering the best way to show this with either color or zones on the map.

Cleaner Exports

Exports have become a critical tool for hundreds of integrators making presentations to customers.

We have removed controls from the PPT, PDF and Word doc exports to make the presentations cleaner and clearer:

Camera Image Included on Exports

More than 75% of calculations include specific camera models, making it one of the top used features of the Calculator.

To help further improve the quality of exports / presentations, we have added the image of the camera next to the exported calculation.

Blank Mode Better Integrated

Earlier this year, we added in a 'Blank' mode, which allows designing systems without the Google Map. We have better integrated the controls so you can pick and switch easily from map to satellite to our custom blank mode, as shown below:

Next?

Immediate next up is adding elevation / height calculations. After that, we plan to re-build the calculator as a mobile app, a project we postponed earlier in the year but now plan for a early fall release. If you want any smaller features added, let us know now. While we cannot guarantee, while we are doing the mobile re-build we will stop releasing new features (outside of bug fixes) until the mobile app is released.
