Cisco continues to advocate large scale integrated safety and security platforms for government and critical infrastructure. In a new brochure, Cisco examines how government agencies can stay connected through the use of integrated Cisco technologies.

In March 2009, our examination of Cisco's video surveillance struggles cited this market segment as the ideal fit for Cisco's product and market strengths. Specifically, their COPSS solution seeks to optimize security operations for large-scale, mission critical users that need to quickly and accurately respond to threats by using a variety of integrated systems. To do this, Cisco will emphasize the use of its own video surveillance, access control, communications system (IPICS), IP telephony and networking equipment plus some third party offerings.
