2010 Predictions by Video Surveillance Industry Professionals

Author: John Honovich, Published on Dec 08, 2009

The December 2009 Security Sales and Integration magazines includes an interview with 6 industry professionals discussing the future of the market. Interviewees include GE Security, VideoIQ, Cisco, PSA, ScanSource and a consultant. It's a fairly standard exchange with both Cisco and VideoIQ advocating their approaches (i.e., Cisco emphasizes the network and VideoIQ stresses video analytics).

One quote from Robert Grossman on video analytics stood out for its frankness: "Video analytics is a great example of a product category that repeatedly shoots itself in the foot."
